Post-Christmas Galactic Domination

Game One last night ran 7 turns before the Rebels made an all out push to take the Imperial stronghold. Alas, the Rebels neglected to protect their now-weakened supply chain, which the Hutts quickly used to rack up ten resource planets. Score 1 for Peetza the Hutt.

Game Two embarrassingly came to an abrupt conclusion when Kent, the Rebel Commander, failed to sufficiently attack the Hutts on the first turn. Peetza then ran the board, winning before the Empire could even make its first play. Score 2 for Peetza the Hutt.

Game Three went on for four turns. At that point Rebel Commander Kent threw everything against the Empire and Ric took his Hutts on a winning rampage immediately following. Score 3 for Peetza the Hutt.

Imperial analysis: Kent is too desparate to take out the Empire and is making all-or-nothing mass assaults instead of slowly whittling away at the Imperial systems while holding the Hutts at bay. The result is a steady stream of Hutt victories after failed mass assaults.

Hutt analysis: Neener. Neener. Neener.

Rebel analysis: God, those Imperial 8-sided die are killing me!

Galaxy Dominated by Hutts

News Flash!

Balmorra, Core Worlds. 12 December 2008 Earth Standard Calendar.
An early Rebel victory easily crushed the disorganized and demoralized, not to mention sleep-deprived Imperial forces. In a desperate bid to avoid destruction, the Evil Empire elected to move the Death Star onto a normal Starbase protecting a resource planet and keeping the Hutts at bay. Unfortunately, this left the Emperor relatively unprotected. The Rebels, lacking any means to take out the Death Star, instead attacked the other Starbase just to be rid of it. Imagine their surprise when they found the Emperor hiding in a laundry chute.

In a second battle royale last night, the Rebels, over-confident from their preceding victory, neglected the Hutts, concentrating on destroying Imperial Storm Troopers on the first round. Peetza da Hutt immediately took advantage of this and swept up ten resource planets, denying the Empire a chance to even get in the game.

Finally, in a third round last night, the forces were much more cautious after the previous disaster with the Hutts. A see-saw battle ensued for several rounds. In the end, Rebel forces destroyed Starbases that garrisoned two resource planets but these were left with only single troops protecting each. The Hutts struck quickly, capturing those two and then breaking out to take two others for a second victory. Hutt domination of the galaxy continues unchecked.
