The battles swung back and forth, as the Rebels and Imperial Forces traded blows. The Death Star on Elom kept the Wild Spaces out of play.
An early Hutt fleet led to substantial growth in their domain until it was neutralized with the fall of Tatooine. The Rebels captured the Ison Corridor for several turns early on, then the Empire swept in and took it back. A well timed Hutt straight provided enough forces for them to break through the blockade at Byss and capture Bespin.
With 7 resource planets, they were poised to strike out for victory as they amassed faction cards. Meanwhile, the Rebels pushed the Force Meter far to the Light Side and gained even more faction cards. Extremely bad luck visited the Imperial forces with a series of ones rolled at key times and their faction card holdings dried up.
The Hutts fought their way up to 9 resource planets, but were unable to hold on to their gains in the Mid Rim. The Rebels recaptured all but Rodia and then halted a massive green counter-attack at Nar Shaddar. All in all, the Rebels had taken 2 starbases while the Dark Side had not been able to destroy any systems with the Death Star.
In a final offensive as the clock approached 10:30, General Ric was able to force the garrison on the starbase at Balmorra to flee even though the Sith Lord was able to summon a few reinforcements. In the end, the Emperor was captured for a Rebel victory, denying Kent his trifecta.
