General Wood led off with a very strong assault against Sith Lord Horak, which means he will never taste Jaime Oliver's pork stew again ;-). Combined with a minor loss to Peetza da Hutt, the Empire only had 3 legions for initial reinforcements. But between the Death Star on Endor neutralizing any threat of a take over of the Ison Corridor and large Imperial and Hutt garrisons in the Wild Space, the battles soon took to the Mid Rim, Core Worlds, Outer Rim and El'Rood Sector.
Unbeknownst to our heroes, the Emperor was on the board by turn 2, safely behind the skirts of many, many Hutts in Arbra, deep in the Wild Space. As the Rebel attacks went farther afield, their garrisons became thinner and thinner. The Hutts took advantage of this to run up into the high numbers of resource planets.
By turn 6 the Rebels had yet to capture a starbase, all starbases were on the board, the Death Star had moved to Arbra, the Rebels had 7 faction cards, the Hutts had 9 resource planets, and with a lucky play of a faction card, the Emperor was located on Arbra. The sole Rebel concentration of force fought their way to Gamorr but were stymied by the fortifications in the Wild Space.
An Imperial assault on Elom was repulsed, seriously weakening the garrison on Arbra, denying the Empire a sector, leaving the Hutts with 9 systems, and exposing the Storm Troopers to the impending assault by the Rebel hoard. Amazingly, General Wood continued to whine about his poor luck, bad position, and impending loss. Despite being protected by the Death Star, between a fleet of 2 fighters and 2 bombers and a dozen Rebel legions, the end was at hand for the Empire.
Even so, the dastardly Emperor switched his base to Endora, protected by an outpost at Bakura and the long Rebel supply line from Gamorr to the Ison Corridor. But a faction card straight enabled a huge Rebel breakout. Peetza's "Money is Power - The Orders Never Come" faction card only delayed the inevitable. After a vicious battle at Bakura, Endor was captured. After 9 turns, victory Rebels.
